Meg has been a strong proponent of recycling and integrated solid waste for over 20 years, in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. She started her career first as an elected official placed in charge of developing a recycling program where none existed. That evolved into an appointed position as Executive Director of the Eastern Rensselaer County Solid Waste Management Authority where she also was a co-founder of ERC’s Community Warehouse. She currently serves as Vice President of Materials Management for Covanta Energy Corporation.
In addition to her current job, she sits on the Board of Directors for the Go Green Initiative, an innovative environmental education program endorsed by PTAs throughout the United States and the National Recycling Coalition, where she is Vice President/Treasurer. She continues to serve as the Chairman of the Federation of New York Solid Waste Management Associations and sits on the boards of the New York State Association for Reduction, Reuse and Recycling and MassRecycle. In her spare time, she is a member of the Cape Cod & Islands Red Cross Disaster Team.
