NRC Policy Update

On May 17, the board of the National Recycling Coalition adopted an initial policy statement in support of container deposit laws and adopted a process to solicit feedback from the Recycling Organizations Council and affiliated State Recycling Organizations in July in order to discuss potential amendments to the policy at the July board meeting.

On July 26, by a majority vote of the board of the National Recycling Coalition, this policy statement below was officially adopted:

“The NRC supports deposit return systems for container recovery as a vital strategy to increase the collection and reclamation of clean materials for recycling into new materials.
