As a Ph.D. zero waste researcher, consultant, and educator, I want to contribute to NRC’s renaissance by creating new programs to keep members well-informed. I‘d like to organize clearinghouses of useful recycling information and innovative educational programs and webinars for members.I want to use my decades organizing conferences for AWMA and testifying at legislatures and agencies to assist the critical mission of NRC’s outreach to legislatures and the press.

With over 20 years of experience in the recycling industry, and now a member of the senior leadership team of one of the preeminent recycling companies, I would be extremely proud to serve as an NRC Board member. I will be an advocate for advancing NRC’s mission, and will promote the causes, which the NRC must champion in order for recycling to grow and thrive.

Since 2008, I have both served as the Executive Director of the Indiana Recycling Coalition and have been an active member of the NRC’s Recycling Organization Council. I believe my experience leading the IRC through dramatic growth (larger/more diverse budget, multiple staff, higher profile), as well as leading a successful campaign in support of source-separated curbside recycling vs. a dirty MRF for Indianapolis would add significant value to the NRC.

The SRI has a long history of supporting the NRC, such as its support of the SMM event last year. It is time for the SRI to take on a leadership role again in the NRC. It is time for the SRI to assist the NRC to regain its place as “the national voice of the recycling industry”. I respectfully ask for your vote to the NRC board.
Thank you.
