Recycling & Zero Waste Program Manager, University of Vermont

Working in the field of sustainability for over 20 years Corey has positioned University of Vermont (UVM) as a leader in sustainable materials management and Zero Waste. He collaborates with students, faculty and staff on a variety of strategic initiatives and projects that seek to reduce UVM’s waste stream and educate the campus community. After graduating from Keene State College with a degree in Sociology, he worked with the Connecticut Energy Co-op, and later with the Dept. of Energy’s Energy Star Program. Transitioning to solid waste and recycling, Corey joined UVM in 2005 and has guided the program through a series of transitions. Most recently UVM’s recycling program was named a Top Ten school by PLAN. He was in the first cohort of UVM’s Leadership for Sustainability Graduate Program, is TRUE Zero Waste Advisor certified and is a current board member of the College and University Recycling Coalition.
